RESPONSIBILITIES
This full-time non-exempt position, under the supervision of the Director of Facility Services, is responsible for overseeing all maintenance functions and the supervision of the maintenance team assigned to the Erie and Luzerne campuses. This position is expected to actively assign and review preventative maintenance and daily work order tasks and maintain a record of all maintenance activities in HIPPO, the computerized maintenance management system utilized by Kintock. This position is expected to work in a hands-on capacity when needed.
DUTIES
· Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department for all Erie and Luzerne buildings.
· Ensures maintenance and repair work is done in a timely manner.
· Evaluates systems and structures to determine maintenance or repairs that are needed.
· Maintain and document the Preventative Maintenance Plan for all buildings.
· Work with Human Resources on the recruitment of maintenance workers
· Ensure the effective training and development of the maintenance department staff.
· Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of on-site maintenance staff, ensuring an on-call rotation for 24/7 coverage including storm coverage.
· Conducts performance evaluations and works with Human Resources to handle disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy.
· Manages all work orders in HIPPO for the Philadelphia campus.
· Responsible for meeting with vendors when they come onsite for inspections.
· Ensures that all licenses and inspections remain current.
· Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
· Expected to be on-call 24/7 and report to the facility as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge
· Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to:
Communicate effectively orally and in writing; Function effectively in an offender populated environment; Follow instructions and complete multiple tasks properly and timely. Handle a flexible work schedule; and Follow company policies and procedures. Be on call 24/7 and report as needed to facilities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· At least 5 years of maintenance experience required.
· At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Valid Driver’s license required.
