Case Management Coordinator

Department: Case managers
Location: Newark, NJ
General Description:

This position, under the supervision of the Director, Deputy Director and/or Sr. Case Manager, will assist the program staff with case management administrative issues and resident record keeping 

Job Requirements (Performs other work related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor):
  •  Maintaining client records in accordance with established policies and procedures;
  •  Coordinating, monitoring & documenting relevant issues for residents
  •  Providing technical support for program staff, including resident intake
  •  Serving as a liaison between the professional staff and residents
  •  Participating in all mandated staff development sessions
  •  Performing other duties as assigned by Program Personnel
  •  Assisting with group facilitations
  •  Filing for Case Managers
  •  Mail sorting and distribution
  •  Assigning community service
  •  Facilitate orientation
  •  Contacting institutions to confirm resident departure times
  •  Generate reports (BOT & Pre-Release)
  •  Track resident BOT / COR attendance 
Knowledge: 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Modern principles of Criminal Justice and Community Corrections
  • Modern office principles and protocol
  • Basic business communications practices

Abilities:

  • Understand and comply with company and contract agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Communicate effectively and all levels in the organization;
  • Express ideas clearly and completely, written and oral;
  • Manage time to meet the responsibilities and duties of this position;
  • Give attention to detail and follow-through;
  • Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with co-workers and contracting agency representatives;
  • Execute all duties in accordance with this position description.
  • Clearance through the federal BOP and PADOC

Education Requirements:

Job related work experience may be substituted for academic experience.

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a social science and demonstrated required knowledge, skills and abilities.
